Twitter Questions

Wanted to take the time to answer a few questions that needed longer responses and/or the ones I didn't get to on Twitter:

Does Melania Hate Donald? Not Not Love. Hate.

At first, I really thought she did; there were rumors of an pending divorce before he won the election, and her demeanor (not holding his hand, behind-the-back glares, etc.) seemed to all but confirm it. Now? I'm not so sure. Her public comments put her firmly in Trump's corner, and she's not doing much behind the scenes to make anyone think differently. I'm starting to think she knew exactly what she signed up for and she's fine with it - as long as the money keeps coming in.

What Will be the Break Point Senate Republicans Turn on Trump and ETA? i.e there seems to be no bottom red line.

After the bloodbath in the midterms, GOP donors are realizing Trump can NOT be their 2020 candidate. I don't believe they'll have a choice because it's hard to run for POTUS from prison, but they're actively looking for an exit strategy now. To be clear: Trump will never lose all of his GOP support -- Nixon didn't either -- but he *will* lose enough to be impeached, if he doesn't resign first. The GOP has a brutal Senate map coming in 2020 with 22 seats up for grabs. In all likelihood, they are far beyond saving at this point, but that doesn't mean Mitch won't try. My best guess would be a mass-exodus when Mueller issues his final report. I'm looking forward to seeing how members of Congress react to the reports that were released today -- this can no longer be called a "process crime" (looking at you, Graham) --  since for the first time, POTUS has been formally tied to at least two felonies. We've long since crossed Republican's own stated standards for impeaching any other POTUS. At some point, their self-preservation mechanisms are going to *have* to kick in. It's going to get sporty.

What Gives You Hope That the Nation Will Survive Individual-1's term in office?

We've survived 242 years, and emerged victorious over people far smarter than Individual 1 and the rest of this amalgamation of amateurs. I've said it before: Trump is the first POTUS to ever enter the Oval Office and think that he was bigger than the institution. He quickly learned that he is not. He's not getting his wall. His sycophant acting AG isn't hamstringing Mueller. His last sycophant AG wouldn't hamstring Mueller. Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY, is going to take the fall for Donald Trump. He's treated people like shit his entire life, and now he's going to get exactly what he deserves. Don't get me wrong, he has undoubtedly done damage to our institutions, but he won't be the end of any of them. I'm more concerned about the level of division and animosity in the country -- and Trump exploiting that animosity -- than I am him doing lasting damage to our Government. I don't believe we are irrevocably divided yet, but we are certainly getting close. My plea since I've been on Twitter has been for people to find a way to gravitate more towards the center; it's the only effective place to govern, and the only way we will continue to coexist as a country. With the harsh divide we currently face, it makes it far easier for populists like Trump to sneak in and exploit the fears of the masses. It's imperative for the health of our nation (and our sanity) that we realize political differences don't mean we have to be enemies. The nation needs to do some serious soul-searching, but we are going to be OK.

Does the Secret Service Protect Federal Prisoners? Asking for Individual 1.

No. No they don't. We'll save a fortune on golf cart rentals.

Thoughts on Pence? Will Any Pence Transgressions be Revealed?

Honestly, I'm not sure. I've maintained from the beginning that Pence would get away, if for nothing but political purposes, but as more information comes out, the more it looks like he might be implicated. He's certainly lied to the American people on more than one occasion, but will that rise to the level of high crimes or misdemeanors? With this Congress, who can say? I would still say that smart money should bet on Pence not going anywhere unless he and Trump both go down before January -- Mike Pence could be on live TV eating a baby and the GOP wouldn't give Nancy Pelosi the Presidency.

  1. I'm with you on Melania, except one thing. I bet she'd be long gone by except she's realized he is not long for this world. Whether it's his health or something else entirely is the question. His paranoia makes me think that he has the same thoughts. As for Pence, he's Machiavellian. He's been in on it from the beginning, he's just smarter than the rest of them and has been better at washing his hands. Hopefully not quite good enough though.

    1. Like the Agnue VP Pence should be the first to go on a lesser charge but still conspiring to basically over throw our Government along with McConnell, Ryan and the band of Merry con-men & women owned by the NRA, AMA, THE KOCH Brothers and of course Putin!

  2. I think Melania got a nice fat wad of cash, sent directly to the Caymans (or a nice bank in Africa), to stick around and act "wifely". She also got her & her parents' citizenship (illegally), which was likely part of the payoff.

  4. I can remember a time when having a father-in-law that was a Communist would keep you from running for dog catcher. Not only did Twitler win, he helped his communist father-in-law become a citizen.

  5. The current GOP is criminal and unAmerican. Pence has to go down, eating babies not withstanding. Nancy Pelosi will finish out trump’s term. The scum that floated to the top must be eradicated if we are to be the “Exceptional” nation we have always pretended.

  6. Re read Tom Clancey's book he spells out the solution. I wouldn't be at the State of the Union for 2019 if you paid ten billion in gold bullion.

  7. Do you think that Melania is also, like many of Trump's cohorts, compromised? I mean, if it's true that she worked/lived in the US w/an expired visa, and/or fraudulently procured a "genius visa", whatever that is - she could have her citizenship revoked as per new rules.
That would certainly give her powerful incentive to play along.
